Episode 8: Kristin Bingham- College Education, Navigating Life, and People Propagation

What's up, Plant People?? I have a great one for you today. I sat down (several months ago, actually) with my dear friend Kristin Bingham to talk about plants, college education, and just life in general. Kristin is an Assistant Professor of Biology at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas. She also runs the greenhouse and gardens at SPC (sound familiar?) and is super hilarious. There are actually times I'm concerned we're the same person Kristin is also the host of the Catabolic Conversations Podcast (more info below) with her colleague, Dr. Megan Keith. You'll LOVE hearing Kristin's thoughts on the twists and turns our lives take as we figure out what we want to be, on plants and science, and on how to be successful as a student.

I mentioned all kinds of new stuff that's going on in today's episode! Here are links to info about Lubbock-Con, the new Planthropology Facebook group, and the brand new Patreon page!

Episode 7: Katherine Drury- Aquifers, Gardening, and Making Sure There's Jam

What's up, Plant People? It's your host, Vikram Baliga, back again with Episode 7! Listen, do you like water? Of course you do! I know for a fact you like to drink, eat, bathe (at least I hope), and, well, just have the ability to live in general. Water is totally necessary for life and 100% irreplaceable to us as living organisms. It's a good thing there are people like Katherine Drury out there!

Katherine is the Education and Outreach Coordinator with the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District on the Southern High Plains of Texas. I sat down with Katherine to talk about everything from her love of gardening to how different types of aquifers store and supply water to so much of North America. She's fun, personable, smart, and an excellent science communicator with experience in traditional news media, horticulture, water conservation, and so many other things. Katherine and I have been friends for years and I think you're really going to learn a lot and have a bunch of fun listening to this episode!

You can find Katherine and the HPUWCD at the websites and social media outlets below!.  Enjoy the show and let me know what you think!
