66. Tree Talk- Trees Aren't Real

What's up Plant People??? Today's the first episode of my new, monthly Tree Talk series! Over the next year, we'll go through the life of a tree, from seed to industry to folklore and everything in between. We'll start off with a discussion on whether or not trees are even real. It should be fun! Be sure to check out the links below for some of the source materials I used and mentioned in today's episode!

65. Deep Dive- Tea and Crumbly Bits w/ Abby Morrison

What's up, Plant People? You wanted another episode about tea and you know it! When Abby Morrison, a crowd favorite from wayyyy back in episode 17, heard my recent episode ranking teas, she told me that tea was one of her very favorite things! I asked her if she'd be interested in doing a deep dive into tea with me and she graciously agreed. We talk tea production, differences between kinds of tea, tea ceremonies from around the world, how to brew (steep?) the perfect cup, and the very best business idea ever. Abby is the most delightful of humans and you're going to love this one!

64. Star Power, Miracle Fruits, and Editing the Encyclopedia w/ Melissa Petruzzello

What's up, Plant People? I don't know about you, but since I was a kid I looked at the Encyclopedia Britannica as THE source for knowledge. Curated for more than 250 years, Britannica has aggregated, vetted, and distributed information across a wide variety of fields. Imagine my glee when I found someone out there on the Twitterverse who literally EDITS the Britannica! Melissa Petruzzello has a BS in biology, an MS in plant biology and conservation, is the host of Britannica's Botanize! podcast, and is the Associate Editor for Plant and Environmental Sciences at the Encyclopedia Britannica. We talked a lot about what that's like (of course), but also went into the skill of waiting, finding the perfect career for you, doing research in the desert, fruits that mess with your tastebuds, and SO much more! Check out this great episode with a great human, and make sure to look Melissa up all the places! Stay curious, friends!
